13 Districts With High Covid Mortality Told To Address Low Testing, Ensure Timely Hospitalisation

NEW DELHI: Thirteen districts in eight states and Union Territories reporting COVID-19 mortality higher than the national average were advised by the Centre on Saturday to address the issues of low testing and delay in test results, and ensure timely hospitalisation.

Registering 61,537 more cases in India, the tally reached 20,88,611 on Saturday, while the death toll rose to 42,518 with 933 more fatalities, the Health ministry said, adding that the number of recoveries surged to 14,27,005 with the recovery rate rising to 68.32 per cent. A total of 61,537 cases were added in a day, taking the tally to 20,88,611, it said.
