Stars of Mrs Brown’s Boys surprised a massive fan on a milestone birthday his mother feared he would never see.

Kian Dunning Boggan was gobsmacked when Fiona O’Carroll, who plays Maria Brown, called to his door in Ratoath, Co Meath, on Wednesday to wish him a happy 18th birthday.

Fellow stars Danny O’Carroll and Paddy Houlihan also took the time to make a video call to Kian who received 825 cards from kind well-wishers all over Ireland who replied to an emotional appeal from mum Joyce.

She asked the public to help make the day extra special for her son, who she watched battle open heart surgeries as a baby.
