Murray backs Pearses’ team-mate for a call up to the Rossies

DAVID MURRAY reckons he’ll be joined in the Roscommon ranks by clubmate Paul Carey whenever Padraig Pearses’ AIB All-Ireland club journey ends.

Rossies manager Anthony Cunningham is watching ex-U-20 attacker Carey closely and will have been impressed with his Connacht final performance.

The 21-year-old led the destruction of favourites Knockmore with 0-8 – 0-5 of which came from play – and will be a marked man at Kingspan Breffni today.

Another big performance could even tip the balance in Pearses’ favor as Crokes are set to be without their own talisman forward Paul Mannion.
