ISLAMABAD

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) announced on Tuesday that all international and domestic air passengers must be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by Sep.30.

Planning Minister Asad Umar, who also heads the NCOC, said incoming international passengers as well as those flying domestically or abroad would not be allowed to avail the facility from Sep.30 unless they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

While announcing the new rules during a press briefing Umar said Pakistan will require all teachers, professors, school staff and students age 17 and older to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Unvaccinated people will be barred from entering educational institutions starting from Oct.15. That’s also when the government will require proof of vaccination in order to purchase train and bus tickets.

He said vaccinated people can get online certificates from the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), and a smartphone app is also being developed.
