Film star David Oyelowo may have been raised in a Christian home – but he had to find faith for himself
British movie actor David Oyelowo has explained how Jesus is the rock on which he builds his life.
Hollywood star Oyelowo, 40, is best known for his role in the 2014 blockbuster Selma, but the British Nigerian actor finds there is something much more rewarding than acting – a relationship with God.
He says: “I pray about what I should and shouldn’t do in movies, and of course who you are dictates what you are drawn to, and so I am sure that the roles I play, the films I do, are a reflection of what I believe.
“They would have to be. There is no doubt that there is a correlation between my faith as a person and the roles I play.”
