Having a baby can be an overwhelming experience. Couple that with a severely exhausting first few months post-delivery, and what you get is a mother waiting to jet off on a vacay! Also, with global marriages having become an urban reality, many mothers require to travel with a new-born baby in tow. Whatever the circumstances, it is becoming fairly common to have new mothers traveling within or outside the country with their new-born. While it may look cute n’ cuddly for onlookers to see a tiny bundle nestled in its mother’s arms, waiting to board a flight or sit in a car, reality is a far cry from the idyllic picture. Colic, crankiness, disrupted sleep schedules, refusal to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings are just some of the problems that jump in uninvited in that suitcase while travelling with a new-born baby. However, fear not; with the right kind of guidance and planning, even these sojourns can become memorable rather than nightmarish – egging you on to go for many more such bonding excursions with your baby, before he grows up and becomes independent.
