Yayasan Chow Kit—an NGO that provides a safe space and exposes children (regardless of their backgrounds) to as many opportunities to reach their full potential—believes so.
“If you live in KL, you have a certain ‘negative’ connotation about the Chow Kit area, associated to gamblers, drug pushers or sex workers. There are children who grew up in this environment, who are exposed to this at a young age and therefore think of this lifestyle as a norm,” Ananti Raj, the CEO of Yayasan Chow Kit shares. “When Generation T approached us, we thought it was a great avenue to expose the kids to entrepreneurship and success.”
