DESIGN TRENDS LEAVES

The year 2021 has a lot to offer and the design world is in full bloom with understanding and interpretations of the trends that will dominate design in 2021. TIHG is elated to have four design experts who give us their top five trends for this year, that indicate the direction towards which interiors seem decisively inclined.

1. Modern Rustic

As modernity in spaces is fleeting, adding a rustic edge to it makes it warmer, cosier and more homely. The sleekness and sharpness of furniture combined with some granular fabrics, burnt colour palettes and everyone’s favourite – cane. This blend makes the space truly yours and allows room for your personality to reflect. It also ends up becoming a design theme that meets everyone halfway.

2. Inclusion of Home Plants

Including plants into your home has become vital. The feel of nature and green within your space is what helps with peace of mind, cleaner air and a feeling of being alive. Plants are like an additional member of the family, with whom you can’t ever feel like you’re in complete isolation.

3. Feel Good Fabrics

Fabrics that feel great on the skin such as suede, faux alpaca and soft boucle seem to be more in trend rather than the harder embroidered or shiny fabrics that give you an itch. These can be in the form of upholstery or just cushions or throws to make sure you are chic while being comfortable.

4. The Home Office

When it comes to your home, 2020 has taught us the value of multifunctional spaces. The trend going forward is going to be using intelligent hardware and smart design to create collapsible desks, pull out furniture and multifunctional centre tables that double up as places to work.
