CHANEL ELECTRO BY CHANEL HORLOGERIE

One of 2021’s most fun and captivating novelties, the immersive Chanel Electro capsule collection is inspired by the graphic codes borrowed from electronic music culture. Sprouting from the underground scene before becoming an influential mainstream mainstay and a full-fledged artistic genre with an authentic aesthetic, the radical and original all-night raves of the ’90s cannot better signify the liberty of living in the moment and enjoying the nightlife and its atmosphere.

“I conceived this capsule collection like a performance program, inviting our classics, the J12, Première, Code Coco and Boy-friend, to perform side by side on this stage, drawing their inspiration from the codes of this world,” explains Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the Watchmaking Creation Studio. At the core of the collection’s visual palette are contrasts between colour and black or white. Kickstarting with Chanel’s J12 icon, the J12 Electro’s ceramic and steel case—available in 38 mm and 33 mm sizes powered by the Calibre 12.1 and quartz movements respectively—are accented with vibrantly coloured numerals. The J12 X-Ray Electro Caliber 3.1 and J12 Electro Star step up the luxury quotient with white gold, and baguette-cut rainbow sapphires and diamonds.
