Q Did you have reservations about tackling Essie’s cancer storyline?
A My dad died of cancer, my daughter Matilda developed a brain tumor when she was five, and a friend died of pancreatic cancer, which is what Essie has. So, initially, I was very anxious I wouldn’t be able to cope. But it was a story that needed to be told.
Q A a few weeks back, Essie felt she couldn’t continue with chemo. Why was that?
