A new documentary shines a light on the challenges faced by the british glamour model and her son
Katie Price Saving Harvey

She’s best known for being an outrageous glamour model – as famous in the UK for her wild antics as her striking appearance. But away from the media coverage, there’s more to Katie Price than meets the eye, as revealed in a new BCC documentary, Katie Price: Harvey and Me.

The show – currently available to view on YouTube in Australia – produced by Price’s friend Olivia Isaacs, charts the 42-year-old model’s quest to find suitable adult residential care for her disabled 18-year-old son Harvey.

Born in 2002 to ex-Manchester United football star Dwight Yorke (who, allegedy, hasn’t been a part of his son’s life), Harvey was diagnosed with septo-optic dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder that affects his eyesight. He is on the autism spectrum and has a rare condition called Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes learning difficulties (he has the cognitive age of a 7-year-old), weight gain and behavioural problems. Harvey regularly has meltdowns caused by overstimulation (loud noises like doors slamming can trigger them), and he will try to calm himself by banging his head against a door, or punching the wall.
