What is it that drove people to use old cars as target practice back in the days when guns in country environments were more common than today? It seems that cans and bottles weren’t satisfying enough for target practice, inevitably the bullets were trained on any innocent old car that happened to be close at hand. Fast forward to the new millennium and those bullet holes become more work for the hot rodder fortunate enough to end up with that old country car.

Such was the case for Brad Bennie when he started on his ’38 Ford sedan project. First job on the list was to repair those bullet holes and knock out the many dents in the body. While he was at it, the rear fenders were welded to the body in similar fashion to how custom cars were treated back in the sixties for a smoother appearance. Then, after all the bodywork was finished it was all bathed in Blueprintmetallic paint that really sets off the body shape that is accentuated all the more by the lack of its original bumpers.
