Following Her Dreams

I’m not going to lie, there are days when I wake up and wonder what my life would have been like if I had dropped everything in Malaysia and accepted the offer to go to Canada to further my studies. But that’s me, from a very young age – I’ve been making my own decisions based on instinct.

It was my dream to complete my studies in Canada but I never did as I decided to take on something entirely different, which happened by chance. You see, after completing my pre-university course, I had to wait for a few months to find out if my scholarship application was approved.

While waiting, I got an offer to work as an intern at a media giant in Kuala Lumpur (FYI I served coffee, photocopied documents and faxed paperwork without fussing over the tasks given to me). The only difference between me and the rest in my team was that I was given the opportunity to do some scriptwriting as I was one of the few who’s proficient in English.

I was even asked to fill in as a host for one of the live shows and that was when I realised that hosting is something that I’m passionate about.
