Meera Pyarelal of Temple Town blends modern and Indian aesthetics, crafting a sustainable tropical haven with timeless elegance at the Thrissur residence. Rashi Bothra & Ruchi Gehani of Azure Interiors create a Spanish-inspired space near Raipur, offering an unwinding escape with rustic charm, modern comforts, and eco-friendly design.
Hrishikesh More crafts a serene retreat in Ratnagiri, where modern living blends with traditional elements and the tropical landscape for a harmonious haven guided by simplicity and natural ventilation. Designed by Minnie Bhatt, the Pune restaurant is a multi-level escape to Mexico, from hand-painted murals to a rooftop cantina with panoramic views. Hardesh Chawla of Essentia Environments craftily weaves sophistication and finesse into the design language of the Gurugram apartment.


GLITZ was favoured to be a part of ABID Interiors 2024, a celebration of harmony in design, promoting indigenous art and sustainable innovation in interior design. The Evolve Design workshop by IIA Odisha Chapter united students from prestigious architecture colleges, offering mentorship from eminent architects and innovative interdisciplinary exploration.

The Pune café, designed by Suhani Lal Sanghra of Sparc Design, is a vibrant space that creates focal points over a harmonious interplay of colours and textures. The concept of the Hyderabad outlet revolves around immersive engagement and sustainable practices, a design by Manasa Devabhaktuni of Aarna Architects.
The compact Mumbai home design by Rohini Bagla blends modern minimalism with functional elegance, providing a tranquil retreat for visiting guests and parents. The subtle interplay of patterns forms a placid yet persuasive design language at the Pune home by Komal Mittal & Ninada Kashyap of Alkove-Design. Raveena Panchal of The Art Container explores material textures within simple forms, accentuating linearity and simplicity at the Ahmedabad home. 
The Faridabad villa is thoughtfully designed by Gagandeep Kapila of Workshop for Metropolitan Architecture with eco-friendly and customized fixtures. Contemporary luxury and traditional Indian design elements seamlessly blend in the Gurugram home, designed by Smriti Raheja Sawhney of DesignEx.

A review of the book ‘Architectural Inheritance and Evolution in India: Furthering a Lineage or Building a New Identity’ by Apurva Bose Dutta and the post-event report of IIID Bhubaneswar’s Installation ceremony are special features of this issue, along with the projects that won the Honourable mention in various categories at GLITZ Design Honour 2023.
In this diverse array of architectural recognitions, a common theme emerges—a celebration of symbiosis between tradition and innovation. Whether it's the PSG Architecture College and Convention Centre in Coimbatore, expressing architectural visions in urban spaces, or the Fluted Cuboid in Chhatral, embodying a corporate architecture revolution from earth to sky, each project showcases a delicate balance between heritage and modernity. 
The Tarang in Gandhinagar, which shines on the cover of this issue, and Tribhuvana in Ahmedabad embrace green design and vernacular architecture, respectively, intertwining bold expressions with cultural roots. The residential spaces, such as the House of Volumes in Kottayam and the Open Sky Residence in Thrissur, breathe new life into time-honoured traditions, transcending walls and connecting with nature beneath a canopy of stars. 
Even in interiors, from the collaborative sanctuaries of the Tantra Office in Vadodara to the cozy nooks of Aarti Villas in Vadodara and the neutral-toned warmth of Aralias in Gurugram, there's a consistent thread of harmonizing contemporary needs with timeless aesthetics. Our 10th-year celebration, marked by the GLITZ Design Honour 2023, was a grand success, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Honorable Chief Guest, Ar. Narendra Joshi & Pritesh Patel of K N Associates redefine fluid architecture with iconic circular patterns set on exposed RCC at the other Vadodara residence. 
The design of the Rajkot office by Mitesh Antala & Janki Hakani of Rust & Even draws attention to natural materials, textures, and the interplay of natural and artificial light. A high-energy restaurant and lounge in Kolkata, designed by Ajay Arya of A Square Designs, offers an Insta-worthy experience with vibrant Oriental-inspired interiors.
The Kochi home is a harmonious blend of spacious common areas, minimalist bedrooms, and natural light in a suburban setting, a design of Tales of Design's Shammi A Shareef. Natural wood, plants, fabric and brass come together to create a relaxing yet fairytale vibe at the Mumbai café and bar design by Keith Menon of Spiro Spero. 
This Panchkula home is part of the designer Aman Aggarwal of Charged Void's exploration for creating a transcendent and spiritual character in architecture. Shonali Mahajan of Studio Wodehouse transforms an apartment into a personalised, light-filled space with a focus on a bold, tribal-inspired aesthetic.
Artist Shruti Vij explores the transformative power of art in shaping spaces, from homes to hotels, reflecting personal taste and enhancing aesthetic appeal.
Finally, GLITZ cordially invites architects and designers to participate in the GLITZ Design Honour for Creative Excellence 2023, an award that recognises outstanding talent in the field of design, celebrating the innovative and visionary minds that shape our built environment. 


OMA’s Ellen van Loon and Giulio Margheri, for SolidNature, designed an installation that explores the journey of natural stone from its geological formation to the finished product. 
GLITZ interacted with Italy’s Simone Micheli whose professional activity includes architecture, interior design, graphics and visual communications.
Jay Thakkar of J Architects brings a high grade of craftsmanship, exposed finishes and rustic décor to the design of the Vadodara home, which shines on the cover of this issue. Outdoor views, indoor plants and ample natural light and ventilation enhance the natural ambience of the Nashik residence, a self-home design Shital Sakhala of Disha Architects.
Amrita Jena of Furnish ME Architects designs the Patna office using innovative, locally-available materials and fixtures that adapt to changing external scenarios. A neat and clean geometric form becomes the basic sustainable tool for the design development of the Noida office design by Kapil Razdan and Seema Pandey of Studio Arquite.
Artsy interiors, a warm colour palette and eye-catching accents come together at the Mumbai home designed by Shilpa Kabra & Rajat Kabra of The DesignBox. The design of the Kolkata fitness studio focuses on the relationship between the visible and the unexplored, a sleek design by Monica Khosla Bhargava of Kham Consultants.
The Raipur home design by Khushboo Kakkar of BASICS Studio is built on two levels that experiences seamless play of volumes and openings. The choice for the Bhubaneswar home was to opt for neutral tones with accents and textures on surfaces and pops of colour via furniture, accessories, and artwork, a design by Suman Mishra & Ashish Deo of NASCENCE.

The tiny quote by legendary American architect Louis I. Kahn “Even a brick wants to be something” speaks of a thousand words. Aspirations are crucial because they help you achieve a successful and happy life, whatever that may be for you. They can also reveal the core principles of a person or a community. And in this issue, we acknowledge the importance of women in the design industry who continually thrive to inspire and intrigue us every day.
On the cover are featured the eligible and deserving women who were honoured at the GLITZ Tejomaya Women in Design 2023, a celebration of success of women architects, designers and entrepreneurs. Take a deep dive into their philosophies and works highlighted through this issue, along with a report of the proceedings of the grand gala event. 
We were delighted to host and honour architect Sheila SriPrakash, a trailblazer in the field of architecture- the 1st women to start her own architectural firm Shilpa Architects. True to the artistic and ideological beliefs of the founder, the firm has emerged as the forerunner in environmentally friendly design and as a champion for the developing world through sociologically sensitive planning.
J&S Interiors's theme of the year “Sparsh” is inspired by ancient Vedic or Indian text, denoted by the rich cultural heritage of well-being, an admirable design philosophy of Jiten Jaiswal and Sanjib Saha.
Also featured is the Gujarat residence designed by Manoj Patel that evolves a volume with unique spatial planning that caters to connections internally with foyers, balconies, and common areas, an interesting hierarchy of open, semi-open, and closed spaces created for two families.
The architecture of the Sundargarh residence by Shaswat Sekhar Sarangi and Saraswat Sekhar Sarangi acts as an instrument that collects all the positive influences in nature for man's benefit, while sheltering him from all the unfavorable influences.


The legendary Indian architect Chitra Vishwanath once rightly said that “Architects are mediators and architecture is the mediated product… They are not force- they are guides and it is this aspect women can bring in to the world to make it a better place!” It is not debatable that an architect’s interpretation of design, art and architecture relies on their dynamic approach towards the field and women designers have always proven that they not only design spaces vividly emphasising on celebrating harmony and equality, but also in accordance with empirical aesthetics concerning the surroundings.
The Neptune GLITZ architecture & interiors magazine joins the celebration of International Women’s Day of this year by dedicating the March 2023 issue to the designers who, through the expression of her craft, continue to define their own narrative, mission and style that is responsive to the human psyche.
GLITZ was proud to be a part of the launch of renowned architect Dulal Mukherjee’s book “Bridging Lines and Roots” at Kolkata which hosted a star studded lineup of architects & designers, and eminent people from sister industries. 
It was a wave of overwhelming feelings to receive the entries by women architects, designers, journalists and entrepreneurs for TEJOMAYA Women in Design Award 2023. This issue constitutes the finalist entries from the architecture and interior design categories. I wish all the finalists all the best wishes for the final leg of the competition.  Although, each of you is a winner in our eyes, some stand out strikingly to the point where we feel privileged to be getting a chance to honour them with the award.

This issue’s cover features the Kanjari, Gujarat residence by Janki Vyas, Margi Choksi, Shivansh & Sneha Suthar of Studio 2+2 who devised open planning to support maximum visibility of the landscape from all the interior spaces.

Spread across three levels, each level of the Gurugram residence reveals a different mood based on its function, a design of Meenu Agarwal of MADS Creations.
Priyanka Khanna & Rudraksh Charan of 42MM Architecture consciously subjects the elements and style of a French structure onto the site at the Lucknow restaurant.
Occupants’ well-being and comfort play a major role in the design of the Raipur restaurant designed by Twinkle Nathani & Mayank Wadhwa of Studio Skywell.
Built as a load-bearing structure, Vaissnavi Shukl creates intimate spaces with views of the lake, the garden and the plantations at the Thol residence.
Shivam Bagdia, at the Nagpur home, formulated a minimalist interior theme with an intended modern colour tone of white and grey.
K. Srinivas Subudhy of Avakaz Architects produces a perfect mixture of elements like wood, concrete, and neutral colours to portray simplicity and a minimalistic design at their Bhubaneswar office.
Abhishek Chadha of The KariGhars designed the Bengaluru home where each space in the house is exclusively designed to reflect the personality of the user.
Finally, I am excited to place the final call for entries for The Neptune GLITZ TEJOMAYA Award for Women in Design 2023- which is an attempt to celebrate the success of women in the field of design.

The vacation home by Shruti Dabir of Atelier Landschaft makes optimum use of the site by deriving the volumes in a linear format along the edge of the lake. 
Manoj Patel of Manoj Patel Design Studio creatively fosters an interactive planning interface between inside and the outside at the Vadodara home. 
Universal design, proper rainwater dispersion, dynamic views and subtle décor are high points of the Salyakote Himalayan resort designed by Sunny Thakur & Neeti Thakur of Metaphor Creators.
Raveena Panchal of The Art Container envisioned the interior of the Ahmedabad home as sheets of paper flowing through space, which bend, twist, and fold.

American football coach Vincent Lombardi once rightly said “Winning means you’re willing to go longer, work harder, and give more than anyone else.” The architects and designers of our nation continue to prove that they are always ready to give more and achieve greater heights with every project that they design.
It was a great pleasure for us to host the 7th edition of GLITZ DESIGN HONOUR-2022 for Creative Excellence in architecture and interiors- celebrating designs- at the national capital New Delhi on 11th November 2022. The competition successfully led to recognise and accolade utmost level of creativity and contextual practices, while incorporating innovative and inspiring practices in the field of architecture and interior design. 
It was quite encouraging to receive hundreds of entries this year from across the country. Among the TOP 50 entries that were nominated as finalists, 13 entries bagged the Design Honour Winner and Honourable Mention Awards under respective category; you can refer and enjoy the winning projects featured in this issue. I offer my hearty congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the participants. 
The release of our 9th Anniversary special November 2022 issue was a highlight of the Design Honour show, along with the giving away of the Lifetime Achievement Honour for this year to Prof. Charanjit Singh Shah for setting a golden legacy in the fraternity.
Another milestone moment that GLITZ achieved was entering the realm of architectural publication with the release of legendary architect Dulal Mukherjee’s ‘Bridging Lines & Roots’, a compilation of hand-drawn sketches of all of his projects. 
I am also excited to introduce and call entries for our next venture that is scheduled for the upcoming International Women’s Day - GLITZ TEJOMAYA Award for Women in Design 2023- which is an attempt to celebrate the success of women in the field of design.


The quote “Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step in your life.” by Author Steve Maraboli have always resonated with my life. Starting The Neptune GLITZ architecture and interiors magazine was my humble attempt to celebrate designs and it turned out to be the utter significant life decision for me, not to mention an utmost rewarding one too. 
This magazine- our most special issue ever– is a record of contemporary Indian design and architecture. With this exclusive 9th anniversary issue, we bring to you the TOP 50 designs that made their way to the pinnacle out of hundreds of entries that we received for GLITZ Design Honour Awards for Creative Excellence 2022. 
Not only are these designs our Finalists who will compete further to win the GLITZ Design Honour Award 2022 under their respective categories, but they are epitome of the standards that the architects and designers of the country have set to inspire others also. So dive in the sea of great architecture and join us in celebrating designs, GLITZ-style!

The Estonian-born American star architect Louis I. Kahn once rightly said, “Architecture is the thoughtful making of space.” Although it is true and unarguable in various aspects, the projects featured in the October 2022 issue resonate and apply the quote in their form and function, in more ways than one. 
WATConnect, an initiative from World Architecture Travel, communicated the art and architecture aspects of the Durga Puja by showcasing unique temporary architecture and installations this month. Also featured in this issue is the exposition of Smart Habitat Foundation’s award ceremony and architects meet at New Delhi, led by Creative Group.  
We feel privileged to be a part of INTCON EXPO Guwahati 2022, the only B2B meet of Northeast for the interior design and construction sector to grow and network.
This month’s cover highlights the Ahmedabad office where each space is buffered by a light edge on the outer side and internally opens into a courtyard, a design of Krishnakant Parmar and Vipuja Parmar of UA Lab- Urban Architectural Collaborative.

The Gurugram home by Mayank Khemka and Vishesh Behl of Design Acrolect is a blend of spatial configurations through the incorporation of double-height volumes, pitched spaces, design, and material.
The Raipur home design by Rishabh Luniya of Rishabh Luniya & Associates ensures openness and free flow of spaces with existing nature- the ten trees around.


On the cover is the design of Shammi A Shareef of Tales of Design. The floor plates of the Thrissur home strategically branch out through the site in an angular grid to form a series of interaction spaces and green niches.
Gurpreet Shah authors the magnificent design of Gwalior Airport designed by Creative Group LLP which showcases an amalgamation of the rich heritage of the city withcontemporary architecture.
With vivid colours as highlights, Portugal's palette was infused in the interiors of the Goa hotel designed by Khozema Chitalwala of Designers Group.
Sourabh Gupta of Archohm Consults designs the Noida residence as a haven of peace with a specifically designed facade to frame views that connect the surroundings. 
The New Delhi residence’s design manifests as a sophisticated and subtle reinterpretation of a neo-modern Indian home, a statement effort by Meena Murthy Kakkar and Vishal Kakkar of Envisage.
Accent colours and geometrical shapes give a bold edge to the design of the Surat house by Mayur Mangukiya and Ankit Sojitra of Studio17.
Combining light hues and traditional elements in decor, this Gurgaon penthouse by Abhigyan Neogi of Chromed Design Studio is seamless, acute and traditionally modern.

Deepak Mukati & Kavita Mukati, at their self-designed studio in Indore, adopt a monochromic minimalism around a Memphis design aesthetics.
A sophisticated material palette and a touch of traditional art stands out in the design of the luxury houseboat at Chilika Lake, Odisha, a design of Gautam Kumar Agrawal of Prakruti Vastukala.

Mayur Mangukiya and Ankit Sojitra of Studio17 model a nature-inspired show house at Surat that brings together striking materials employed over a clean-lined layout and elegant design.
Interesting perforated metal screens on the outside and a soothing, natural aura on the inside make the Raipur home designed by Shreyansh Lunkad and Sachi Lunia Lunkad of White Tree Architects.


The expansion and upgrade of the existing Aodhi Hotel at Kumbhalgarh done without disturbing the serenity and tranquility of the site’s proximity to its natural surroundings by Abhikram is a featured article in this issue.
In a special tete-a-tete session with GLITZ, Love Chaudhary of AND Studio shares about his design principles, philosophies and ideologies behind some of the best projects from his diverse portfolio.

Rishabh Luniya from Rishabh Luniya and Associates adds pops of texture in the form of fabrics to tailor a peppy and playful appeal amidst the subtle colour palette of the Durg residence.  
An all-encompassing, subdued palette, minimal aesthetic and a tad bit of drama are the consistent elements in the Nashik house designed by Deepti Tangri of Deepti Tangri & Associates.
The Raipur home by Prashant Agrawal of Creative Architects is a sanctuary of comfort and luxury with tactically segregated spaces across different floors.
Thasleek V A of RAK Interiors’ design philosophy of paying attention to detail and designing with elegance has precisely been applied to fulfill the client’s requirements at the Cochin home.

I absolutely concur and applaud the quote by Japanese architect and 1987 Pritzker Prize winner Kenzō Tange that goes “Architecture must have something that appeals to the human heart. Creative work is expressed in our time as a union of technology and humanity.” Design is an act of not only aesthetical capabilities, but social sensibilities also. The projects featured in this issue truly resonate with this notion.

Strategically segregated spaces across different levels and a modern-contemporary elegance takes the spotlight at the Visakhapatnam home by Aditya Kambhatla and Jay Prakash of Project Inc - Architects & Interior Designers.

For this month’s special cover, we are delighted to feature the design of Gir Vihar Eco Resort, Gujarat by Himanshu Patel of d6thD design studio, an epitome of sustainability and contextuality, incorporating rubble stone masonry, load-bearing walls, arches, domes and pitched roofs. It is a project that embodies all the design aspects that GLITZ is always on the lookout for.
A design by Prasanna Parvatikar of Cubism Architects & Interiors, the Tamil Nadu bungalow speaks of tradition and culture, an aura achieved via the use of appropriate furniture and architectural elements. Keyur Mewada, Keyur Khorasia and Devang Patel of Elemental Studio Architects incorporated a meticulous understanding of Vastu and focused on the materiality of the brick for the Ahmedabad bungalow.
Aparna Kaushik delivered a beautiful masterpiece with the design of a New Delhi bungalow using a warm palette of neutral and natural colours in harmony with the surrounding nature. Natasha Shah & Shruti Zanwar of Between Walls thoughtfully weaves instances from the resident’s love story in the design with the help of a modern colour scheme, striking wall décor and mindful materiality. Nikhil Agrawal, with the Design Atelier team, has modelled a bold yet elegant design using modern and traditional elements, moody colours and bespoke lighting.
Chiranjib Patnaik of In-Arc employs rich materials, a two-toned colour scheme and customised designs to craft the warm and welcoming contemporary residence at Cuttack. For his self-designed home in Raipur, Hiten Kothari incorporated skylights, ceiling cut-out and balconies to make most of the challenging and restricted plot space. 


Here's to a bright New Year and a warm farewell to the old; here's to what's still to come, and to the memories we behold. It takes a strong backbone to go out of the way and attempt to put your ideas to the world, without rendering the thought of getting judged or failed take hold of your mind. In spite of that, some people go ahead and do it, only to prove that vision and ingenuity never fails an enterprise. 
Rahul Todi of Shrachi Group, West Bengal and Ramesh Patel of Maruti Sales Corporation are rightful examples of this notion. On one hand Rahul is achieving fresher milestones by structuring projects that turn out to be landmarks of Eastern India's glorious skyline, and on the other hand Ramesh is fostering newer connections and production goals with the flooring of MSC's brand new flagship outlet. 
GLITZ felt blessed to be associated with IIA Architecture Expo hosted by IIA Andhra Pradesh Chapter & Vishakapatnam Center. It was a pleasant way to see off the year 2021, deliberating on 'Architectural Pattern in Building Industry' in the company of eminent design minds of the state.
Also featuring in this issue are the projects which were awarded the Honorable Mention at GLITZ Design Honour Awards 2021 for architecture and interior design. Get inspired from the creative architectural brilliance, aesthetical and functional designs of Udan Crematorium by Himanshu Patel of d6thD design studio, Mango House by Manuraj C R of i2a Architects Studio, The Violet office design by Rohit Palakkal of Nestcraft Architecture, Architectural Studio and Pankh Boutique by Anupam Deb of Metarch Studios.
The contemporary Vadodara home by Vaibhav Patel & Associates and Mumbai home by Traansformation Design Studio are epitomes of clean design, sleek finishes and refined architectural elements. 

Just how the great American designer and architect Charles Eames said “Recognising the need is the primary condition for design.”, I believe recognising great designs is the primary condition for a design publication house. GLITZ architecture & interiors magazine is a modest endeavour to promote, document and recognise the creative efforts that architects and interior designers undertake on a day to day basis, and GLITZ Design Honour is a product of this objective per se. 
It was a great pleasure for the whole GLITZ family to host the 6th edition of GLITZ DESIGN HONOUR-2021 for Creative Excellence in architecture and interiors. The national-level competition successfully achieved to recognise and accolade utmost level of creativity, while incorporating innovative and inspiring practices in the field of Indian architecture and interior design. 
It was quite encouraging to receive hundreds of entries this year from across the country. A total of 199 entries were presented before the jury for evaluation, out of which 35 entries were nominated as finalists. The top 9 entries bagged the Design Honour Winner Award under each category; you can refer and enjoy the winning projects featured in this special issue. I offer my hearty congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the participants. 
The release of our 8th Anniversary special November 2021 issue, in which we celebrated the golden legacy of Creative Group LLP lead by Prof. Charanjit Singh Shah, was a special highlight of the Design Honour show.
