Rajkummar Rao, our cover subject this month has made a mark for a variety of reasons. Time and again, he has given us proof of his versatility, from playing a vicious terrorist (Omerta) to a bumbling, small-town bumpkin (Bareilly Ki Barfi). Also he has made it on his own, without any film family backing him. Thirdly, he seems like a nice, relatable guy – he’s earnest, self-effacing and polite to a fault. MW has been around for 19 years. Almost two decades into our existence and still going strong, we’ve put together a package of stories that tell you just how much India has changed in that time.
