The Desh 2 August issue examines the ongoing crisis in the Indian state of Manipur. Eminent poets Joy Goswami and Subodh Sarkar address the situation in two of their exclusive poems written for this Desh number. An essay by Trinanjan Chakrabarty on the author Milan Kundera (1929-2023) is a special feature of this issue. Also included is a travelogue by Bitan Sikdar on the hilly terrains of Northern India. Regular sections like the serialized novel Shunya Pather Mallika by Smaranjit Chakrabarty, Mantabya, Granthalok, Kabita, Galpo, Shilpo Sanskriti, Chithipatra, Seshkatha etc are there as usual.
