This year the Church observes Easter in the month of April, celebrating the most significant day in its calendar. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the basis of our Christian faith and marks the birth of our eternal hope. The cover of our Saint Martin Magazine shows part of the beautiful Resurrection Window which can be seen in the Black Abbey, Kilkenny. In ‘Evangelium’ Michael Oliver Wyer looks at the events of that Easter morning the “New Creation” which brought an end to the night and the darkness. Jesus’ victory over the grave makes the world “good” all over again. Music is always a wonderful part of the Easter ceremonies and Dom Aelred Magee OCSO shows us how music is prayer and demonstrates how it gives wings to the soul. Artificial Intelligence is something we are hearing more about daily and in a fascinating article in her series ‘Echoes’, Patricia Hope traces its development back to the 1950s and a question posed by the famous mathematician Alan Turing, “Can machines think?” Fr Conor McDonough OP and Ray Hughes examine the lives of two influential saints, Kilkenny’s Canice and Rome’s Pope Leo the Great, respectively. Saint Jerome and his lion are the subject of ‘Animals and Saints’, and ‘The Angels’ feature the Cherubim who hold the second-highest rank in the entire celestial order. See page 27 to find out the dates for visiting the exact replica of St Bernadette’s body in the Event Space upstairs in Saint Martin Apostolate. All are welcome for a unique experience in lovely surroundings, conducive to prayer and peaceful reflection.

St Martin Magazine Description:

St Martin Apostolate has published our monthly St. Martin Magazine in Ireland since 1952. A wonderful magazine for Catholics around the world. Our magazine is packed with articles to help develop your understanding and your faith.

Included are articles on all aspects of life, news and views on important world events, helpful tips and articles for life, home and the garden. In short, it is a worthwhile easy-to-read magazine that millions of readers have enjoyed over the past decades.

We publish the magazine to promote devotion to St. Martin, to encourage people in the practice of their faith and to generate funds for our mission of bringing the word of God to as many people as possible.
