Sometimes you can be surprised by something, even when you know almost everything about it. Take the new Corvette ZR1, for instance. We’ve been reading all about its facts and figures for months – its bonkers new 755bhp LT5 twin injected small-block V8 with a 50 per cent larger supercharger than the Z06; that it accidentally smashed the Ford GT’s lap record at Virginia International Raceway by almost 1.5secs; and that its brakes are strong and sure enough to stop a runaway locomotive.
