To many of us, it is the duty of famous figures to be filled with smiles and have a jovial persona. But on a personal note, Demi revealed her true character when a colleague of mine asked her to do a short role play to crown him as ‘Mr Universe’ using an inflatable crown at the launch of Muca Skin, eliciting laughter from the crowd and thus proving how she’s a team player and a barrel of fun!
About a year ago, this 23-year-old South African model was crowned Miss Universe 2017 and her one-year journey has been nothing less than a blessing that she never expected to get. Filled with bitter-sweet feelings when she passed her crown over, she admits that her next challenge will be to make use of the experience that she’s gained in the past year and put her skills to the test to see just how far she can go from here.
FEMALE: Has it always been your dream to be crowned Miss Universe?
Demi: “I still remember watching my first South African pageant when I was seven and being so inspired as a little girl. Everything about it was so surreal. I didn’t always know that I wanted to win the crown, sash and title but I always had the dream of becoming a Miss South Africa and Miss Universe type of woman – one who will empower others.”
