It all started when she personally faced problems finding a suitable bridal gown for her wedding six years ago. “Back in the day, I was very petite, and I was looking for something simple like a laced mermaid gown that would fit well. But everything I found was OTT and the service that I received from most places was not up to my expectation,” explains Careen. “My dream was crushed, and after my wedding, I had friends around my size and height who went through the same challenges as well. That was when the idea to start my own bridal boutique crossed my mind.” Coming from a communications background and without having any clue what the nature of her business was going to be like, Careen texted all her friends and told them that she was about to start her own boutique, then asked them to answer an online survey to find out what people would like to expect from this.
