Like everywhere else in the world, most major cities have their own ‘hop-on hop-off ’ city tour buses for tourists, and Hamburg is no exception. Its Red Double-deckers have been offering sightseeing tours since 1978 – first with the Hamburg Hummelbahn vehicles and then with the famous and well-loved open-top doubledecker buses that are part and parcel of the Hamburg city landscape today. Naturally, certified tour guides accompany the bus tours with live commentary in German. But don’t worry, they also offer headsets with audio guides in various languages including English, Chinese and Japanese.
