X-Men: Dark Phoenix
In the extras that accompany this second attempt at bringing the fan-favourite Dark Phoenix comic book story to the big screen, writer/director Simon Kinberg repeatedly throws around terms like ‘real’, ‘grounded’ and ‘down to earth’ in relation to his approach. But don't expect something new for the X-Men franchise in the manner of Logan or Deadpool. As with previous X-Men films that refused to engage with the full mythology of the comics (stretching from a prehistoric lost world to the furthest reaches of the universe), …Dark Phoenix is really just business as usual.
