When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were first introduced at a promotional event for the Invictus Games in Toronto in May 2016, there was instant chemistry between the pair.

Fast-forward 13 months and the world’s most talked-about couple are gearing up to announce their engagement – and make their first public appearance – fittingly, at this year’s Invictus Games, after more than a year of playing cat and mouse with royal watchers.

‘One of the things Harry learnt from his mother Princess Diana is that remaining as low-key as possible is the key to a happy relationship,’ a royal insider explains. But since becoming engaged in August during a romantic trip to Africa to celebrate Meghan’s 36th birthday, the actress has wanted to shout their news from the rooftops.
