Mid-Year Resolutions Reboot

New Year’s resolutions are hard to keep – only 12 per cent of people are still doing what they resolved to do in January by the time the end of the year rolls around. But they’re not impossible.

In fact, it’s never too late in the year to start again, and July is the perfect time to reassess what’s important to you and resolve to make it happen. Here, we give you the tools to achieve your goals once and for all.

Resloution#1

TO MAKE YOUR HEALTH A PRIORITY

MAKE IT HAPPEN: by being specific about what you want to change or achieve as far as your health is concerned. So instead of making a general resolution, such as ‘I want to start putting my health first’, set a more targeted, measurable goal, like ‘I want to lose some centimetres off my waist’, ‘I want to get eight hours of sleep each night’, or ‘I want to reduce my daily sitting time by two hours’.

Research proves that specific resolutions are much more likely to be successful than vague ones because they give you something tangible to work towards. 

Also remember: Don’t try to change too many aspects of your health at once. The brain can’t handle working on too many resolutions or changes at the same time, so pick one or two that matter to you most and give them your full attention.
