Lack of time, space or budget needn’t limit your options when it comes to creating a functional study zone for your tween or teen. With imagination and innovation, you can carve out an area that’s practical and personal. Almost any space, from a niche in the hall to an unused corner of the kitchen, can become a study with the right tools and materials.

“When designing a teen study, the main objective is creating a space to focus on working,” says Lauren Li of Melbourne’s Sisällä Interior Design. “The practical aspects need to be considered to make it comfortable, but the way it feels is also important.” Here we present study set-ups to suit a range of scenarios.
