Meera Mithun the winner of the title Miss South India 2016 was doing research in biotechnology at Dr. Cherian Foundation, she never planned on becoming a model but she was always appreciated for her physique and features. Modeling happened when she was in college and bumped into a choreographer who convinced her to walk the ramp for him for Co-optex. “I really liked the lights hitting and the adrenaline rush you get when you walk the ramp,” says the model who then realized that modeling was her calling. A sports player during childhood, Meera says she is never a gym person but when you get to know that her father was once a title winner of Mr. Madras, you know where the genes would have come from. She keeps herself fit by dancing.
After a detailed research on the Miss South India pageant, Meera got into the competition when she understood that there were no winners from Chennai in the past fifteen years. She took her part seriously and gave her sincere efforts thinking out of the box and giving an eye to the smallest of the details. “When I debuted as a model, I did not know that such a world exits. There were people who were really passionate about their craft and who put their all for the progress. As the offers started to come in, I started exploring more and that’s how it became my career.
