ALWAYS CAMERA-READY
Larry Yeo, makeup artist
“If you know you’ll be in front of the lens, whether for a wedding photo shoot, a red carpet event or other special occasions, HD makeup is your calling card. Thankfully, most foundations are usually photo-ready now, like Make Up Forever Ultra HD or M.A.C Water Weight Liquid foundation. Laneige’s Anti-Ageing BB Cushion, DiorSkin Forever, and Clé de Peau Radiant Cream foundation all sit beautifully on skin. I like using cream textured products. Eyeshadows like Sisley’s Phyto Twist Eye Shadow and Eyeko Me and My Shadow are good, as are contour products like Dior’s Diorblush Light & Contour, which is amazing to blend and subtly highlight for a true celebrity glow.
If I’m working on a client overseas, I always carry my M.A.C Pro Duo Palette and M.A.C Pro Single Palette. I’ll fill them with my M.A.C Studio Finish Cream Correctors, colours from my Make Up For Ever 12 Colour Flash Palette, Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealers in every shade, colours from NARS’ Multiples and Stila Convertible Colours. At the minimum I’ll bring a foundation, concealer, brow pencil, brow gel, and an eyeshadow and blush palette – Stila has a Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek Palette that comes in four variants for different skin tones – along with eyeliner, mascara, blush and lip products. I like packing these in a small, long bag.”
