The Modern Mountain Style

Trends in architecture change over the years just like clothes come in and out of fashion. A prime example can be seen in mountain communities such as Suncadia in Washington or ski home developments like those near Park City, Utah. In areas like these, where log cabins and rustic retreats were once the predominate style; you now see the growing influence of modern architecture.

Modern architectural designs have been around for over a century, during which time, certain decades such as the 1950's and 80's saw a resurgence in popularity. The minimalistic ideals and geometrical shapes of the style are once again popular and their influence has reached the mountains.
