One of the ten statements (Aharvidhi Vidhan) the Vimansthan chapter in Charak Samhita mentions is that those who eat for health should include oil or Ghee in their food because it gives taste, ignites digestive fire, makes digestion easier, manages gas, strengthens joints and senses, increases strength and is good for the skin. The recipe given below is commonly prepared during the Diwali festival.

Ingredients: (for Pooran)
• 1/2 cup yellow Moong Dal
• 1 cup jaggery
