Instead producers searched the globe for almost untouched earth&mdash;15th-century castles in Hungary, coastal roads in Spain, a park in Croatia, and more&mdash;on which to film. &ldquo;We built the yellow brick road in that location; no one&rsquo;s actually ever filmed there,&rdquo;&nbsp;Arjona&nbsp;marvels. &ldquo;It was impossible to get to before we got there, so we built roads and we built an infrastructure around it.&rdquo;

Yet, with all the awe and wonder of the magical locations, the true enchantment is that of Arjona&rsquo;s casting as the first Latina to portray Dorothy from Kansas&mdash;perhaps the whitest fictional character ever on screen. It&rsquo;s a sign of the times&mdash;diversity is steadily increasing in television demographics in spite of a Trump America.
