A man of humble beginnings but big dreams, my father CP Kukreja, once went to a construction site and realised that the man most respected there was the architect. It was then that he decided what his career path would be. In spite of being affected by the partition, he worked hard – sold soaps, studied under lampposts, never flinching, always striving towards his dream of becoming one of the most influential architects of modern India. He wanted to change its landscape, bringing into its fold not only beauty in design but sustainability, a concept new to that era.
