Gear Up For CEO Awards 2019!

In its sixth edition of the CEO Awards, more than ever before, CEO Lounge will recognise the purpose of leadership in contemporary times. In the digital era, purpose goes beyond financial results and task-based everyday schedules. While those are aspects of a longer journey, today’s CEOs are being observed and emulated closely at every stage of personal as well as organisational growth. It has become more vital for CEOs to be perceived more than just chasers of financial results of their companies. Their larger purpose may encompass any or many of these — the passion that they pursue, community mobilisation, or nation-building. Year on year, CEO Awards has tried to showcase this larger purpose of CEOs who are doing the things they need to do, and doing things differently.

The jury for CEO Awards 2019 includes distinguished leaders from across industries. They include Subodh Bhargava, Senior Board Member of companies such as L&T Group, GSK Consumer, Batliboi, Nicco Parks, and Emeritus Chairperson of Eicher Group; S Ramadorai, Chairperson of National Council of Skill Development, Senior Board Member of HUL, Nicolas Piramal, TCS and so on; Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman and MD, HUL; Keki Mistry, Vice Chairman and CEO, HDFC; Anjali Bansal, Chairperson Dena Bank, and Board member of Tata Power, GSK Pharma, Bata, Delhivery, Niti Aayog Planning Commission; Harsh Mariwala, Chairman, Marico; Anand Kripalu, MD, United Spirits; and Ravi Dhariwal, Senior Board member of Future Retail, Sheela Foam, Entertainment Network, Bata, Varun Beverages, Devyani International, Mahindra Group, and Sterling Holiday.

With S Ramadorai at the helm as the Chairman of the jury, a whole new set of leadership is slated to be recognised this year at the ceremony to be conducted in the near future. We spoke to the jury members to get a feel of just what is today’s leadership context, what it entails and what they seek in the winners, and what the future holds.
