This time of the year, it’s natural to focus inward, thinking about healthy new habits, self improvement, and professional advancement. Consider channelling part of that fired-up New Year’s spirit into your bond with your partner.
Here are resolutions to help your relationship flourish in 2018:
SPEND MORE TIME ACTUALLY BEING TOGETHER
Put down the cell phones, turn off Netflix, and spend time being fully aware of and attentive to your significant other. It is too often that we get sucked into a digital world and forget about the realities that are in front of us.
And seriously, nothing is more irritating than feeling second place to a smartphone. Always keep your phone aside while talking to your partner. This is one of the most important relationship resolutions.
BE IN THE MOMENT
Do not worry about the past or the future. The best thing you and your significant other can do for your relationship is live in the moment and be present with each other. It is okay to talk about the future, but don’t dwell on it. It’s completely okay to not know what will happen in the next year or two... Just understand where you are in the present and enjoy the moments that will not come back again.
