Especially since the Volkswagen cheating fiasco, I have heard report after report that diesel cars and trucks in the United States market are dead. I am here to tell you diesel is not dead nor is it on life support; in fact, quite the opposite is happening. While VW has successfully killed off its own diesel segment in the US, other manufacturers have seen the benefits of turning to turbodiesel and have steadily been increasing their diesel product offerings. With Chevrolet, Nissan, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jaguar, Jeep and others offering new diesel models in the last year and more expected in the coming year, we have a healthy diesel market in addition to the steady flow of diesel powered 3/4- and 1-ton trucks that we are used to seeing.
