Besides being a polyglot, well-versed in five languages, namely, English, Italian, Romanian, French and Spanish, Madalina is also a Meisner trained actress. It is an acting methodology that focuses on spontaneity and instinct rather than uttering lines by rote. After performing in several stage plays, this Romania born actress went on to do the television series, Suicide Platoon, the immensely acclaimed The Young Pope, Italian comedy, Alice Non Lo Sa, and a Bollywood thriller, Dobara. Currently, two of her movies, Homeless Ashes and Rockband Vs Vampire, are in different stages of post-production.
In The Young Pope, Madalina shared space with Jude Law. Commenting on her experience, she says, “Jude, despite being a Hollywood A-list actor, is a very modest person. The first time I saw him, I was at the make-up, and he was the one asking me to read the scenes together, to rehearse. He showed himself very available for readings of the scenes and discussing our character’s backstory. I could immediately realise his passion for work and therefore his brilliance as an actor.”
