There are people who live. And then there are people who thrive. Shining in her forties, the supremely fit, gorgeous looking and hazel eyed beauty, Lisa Ray undoubtedly belongs to the latter. Watching her effortlessly tease the camera, one cannot help but wonder how she manages such a busy lifestyle and not to mention the challenges that crop up with a battle against cancer... During this exclusive cover shoot at the luxurious and stylish Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, we gradually unravel the mystery that Lisa Ray is. What follows is a cosy chat where we discover Lisa’s fondness for spas, yoga and organic products and more.

You look great. What’s your take on wellness?

I’ve experienced the shadow side of wellness, which is illness, so to me wellness is not a luxury but a way of life. After years of dedicating myself to learning how to heal through food, emotional freedom techniques, retreats, meditation and yoga; Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese medicine, I’ve learnt there is a certain artistry to living well.

What’s the secret behind your fit body? Take us through your fitness regime.

Its sheer hard work, but one that is quite enjoyable! Yoga has been a constant practise in my life for 20 years now. I have undertaken training to be a yoga teacher and have a studio in Toronto. Life post 40 has been an initiation into a new phase of my body where I can be fit, but not in the exact way as it was in my 20’s. I’ve accepted my body has changed and that I won’t ever resemble what it looked like in my 20s. I play tennis a, regularly practice one on one pilates, do weight training and go for loads of hikes. Mixing up my regime is crucial as I love to learn new skills.

What do you do for healthy skin?
