Las Vegas Food & Wine Festival

Top Las Vegas chefs converge at Tivoli Village for two nights of food and drink during the Las Vegas Food & Wine Festival. Saipin Chutima, the James Beard Foundation award-winning chef behind Lotus of Siam, and Charlie Palmer with Aureole at Mandalay Bay and Charlie Palmer Steak at the Four Seasons are among the notables at the event. Restaurants on the Strip, including Mastro’s Ocean Club, and off, District One Kitchen & Bar with its Vietnamese fare and the inventive Kitchen Table Squared, will be serving some of their offerings. Tickets start at $100 for the grand tasting. Oct. 4-5, starting at 8 pm. www.vegasfoodandwine.com

Taste of Downtown

The Plaza Hotel & Casino boasts a plethora of restaurants showcasing all that Downtown Las Vegas has to offer at Taste of Downtown. Oscar’s Steakhouse, the comfort foods of Hash House A Go Go and Popup Pizza from the resort join Therapy LV with its American fare, Turmeric Flavors of India and the critically acclaimed 7th & Carson at this culinary event that features 40 restaurants. The event from the Nevada Restaurant Association is on Oct. 10, 6:30-9:30 p.m., at the pool at the Plaza. Tickets start at $70. www.plazahotelcasino.com

The USA Today Wine & Food Experience

Get a taste of what the celebrity chefs of Las Vegas have to offer at The USA Today Wine & Food Experience, featuring more than 30 restaurants. Enjoy wine tastings, beer samplings and chef demonstrations at the Culinary Stage. Martin Carbone of Carbone, Shawn McClain of Libertine Social and Sage and Susan Feniger of Border Grill are among the chefs planning to flex their culinary muscles at the event.
