The emotive power of paint plays an integral role in Hermann Niebuhr’s landscapes.
How did you come to be a full-time artist?
I went to Rhodes University to study theology, but changed to Fine Art and never looked back. I knew it would be a challenge making money from art, but I got several breaks through exhibitions.
Do you take commissions?
Yes, and I’ve been fortunate that most have been variations of what I’ve been working on. I appreciate and accept that commissions sustain me financially and buy me time to explore my own ideas.
