Fun, goofy, talented and unbelievably sweet, the Five Feet Apart actress Haley Lu Richardson is one to watch

Haley Lu Richardson - The Five Feet Apart Actress Is One To Watch

Whilst doing last minute checks on the wardrobe for our cover shoot, I was interrupted by highly animated voices coming from the living room of the gorgeous house on The Hollywood Hills where we were stationed at, followed by high volumes of laughter. Haley Lu Richardson had arrived, bringing her carefree, amazingly comedic personality along with her.

Haley is definitely a force of nature — unafraid to be goofy, to stand out, and be herself. I found her openness and willingness to just be herself, refreshing. "When I run into old friends whom I’ve not seen in 10 years, and they’re like 'woah you haven’t changed at all!’, I take that as a huge compliment because to me it means that I still have that wide-eyed craziness that I had when I was a kid,” she shares. "I think that’s my true self and I never want to loose connection with that. I love playing, dancing, making poop jokes, eating yummy food and creating things, and that’s pretty much me."

Dressed casually in a simple top, her doe eyes sparkled as she spotted two huge stuffed toys placed neatly on the couch. “Are these my props for today?” she asked, tossing her tousled hair to the side. She was right— the oversized owl and silly turtle were definitely there as props for her cover photoshoot. She sat right next to them, while we dove in to find out about her journey into stardom, and what her experience was like playing a character who suffered from cystic fibrosis (CF), a genetic disorder she knew very little about — but one that would play a major role in her upcoming movie, Five Feet Apart. “I have only ever met one person with CF – a close family friend, before starting to prepare for this movie.”
