1. ABSINTHE
It can be regarded as a viper’s drink. Banned in half the countries of the world, this drink is made with Artemisia Absinthium (Wormwood) and other naturally grown herbs. Absinthe had a huge calling in Europe and eventually the world wanted to consume this poison. Also known as ‘The Green Fairy’ the drink is marked by its elusive high on a human mind. Stories have been told in the past that Absinthe leads to hallucination, sloth, lust and maybe even murder. But, these stories couldn’t defame the charm of a nice old bottle of Absinthe.
There is one to many methods to consume the Green fairy. Absinthe purists look down upon the new-gen when they don’t treat Absinthe as their muse but just some alcoholic drink to get them high. One needs to limit the consumption of Absinthe as it contains high percentage of alcohol when bottled. The percentage of alcohol can range anywhere from 50-75.
The chemical Thujone (By product from Wormwood) in Absinthe is what gives the drinker that signature allure. Many say you should listen to your favorite song, or read a favorite book as it is a calming and soothing drink when consumed in limited amounts. This is as French as any drink can get.
