Renée Reveals: My Biggest Regrets

Renée Zellweger has pretty much been through it all in her nearly 30-year Hollywood career. She’s been the new It Girl on the block; had her body criticized for being too big and too small; and been the subject of rampant plastic surgery rumors. She’s had a few high-profile boyfriends, including Bradley Cooper and Jim Carrey, and a four-month marriage to country crooner Kenny Chesney that ended amid frenzied speculation over his sexuality. She’s been a red carpet darling and a borderline recluse. And she’s done it all without revealing all that much about her behind-the-scenes state of mind.

Until now. The 50-year-old star opened up like never before in a recent interview to promote her new film, Judy, in which she plays screen legend Judy Garland. And a source tells Star the actress is finally ready to lift the lid on her tumultuous past. “Renée is one of the most private stars in Hollywood,” says the insider. “But her friends are saying this is her way of letting go.” No subject is off-limits for her. “She’s been candid about her fears, her battle with depression, rumors about her plastic surgery and her failed marriage to Kenny,” says the source. “She’s ready for the next chapter of her life — that’s why she’s talking about everything that’s happened to her so far,” says the insider. “She wants to embrace her future.”
