UNIQUE FEATURES

Available ready-to-fly (RTF) or plug-and-play (PNP), the 1220mm (48-inch span) Ranger is molded out of lightweight, sturdy EPO foam. It has an attractive high-visibility yellow, black, and white paint scheme. The high-wing configuration gives the Ranger excellent stability, while its low wing loading produces a pilot-friendly flight envelope. The airframe comes well packaged, and the test model arrived without any damage at all. The model features plastic wing struts, which give it scale looks and provide extra strength for the wings. The tricycle landing gear makes ground handling a breeze, and the molded-plastic nose gear is spring-loaded and, so far, has held up nicely on our grass runway.

The model comes with the propeller, motor, speed control, and servos installed. The horizontal stabilizer is a separate piece and must be screwed into place with the included hardware. The ailerons come with the linkages already installed, as does the rudder pushrod. All you have to do is connect the elevator to its tail-mounted servo.

PRODUCT REVIEW: RC PLANE STANDS BENCHTOP MODEL

I’m a sucker for shop stuff. I buy tools I will probably never use just because they are cool, or I might need to use them someday. When Glen from RC Plane Stands reached out about a review, however, I knew as soon as I browsed their website that I would be receiving something I would use a lot, maybe even daily.
