India is the seventh largest country in the world, and for a country with such a huge population of people belonging to various religions, cultures and traditions, is bound to celebrate a variety of festivities at different times of the year.
In the month of May as well certain places come alive with some or the other cultural activities and that is the time when people also choose to travel and take a vacation. After some research and trying to find something interesting, I came across an article which said about various festivals which are observed and celebrated in the state of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is a northern Indian state bordering Pakistan. Its palaces and forts are reminders of the many kingdoms that historically vied for the region. Rajasthan is culturally a very gifted state as there are many people from different origins which comprise the population of Rajasthan. Rajasthan also has a big population of Adivasis and Nomads who are still living in small societies in and around certain areas of the state of Rajasthan. Soon I came across an Adivasi festival which is observed in Mount Abu, Rajasthan at the time of Buddha Poornima. I was convinced and decided to pack my bag and go out to witness the Adivasi extravaganza that was about to happen in Mount Abu during that period.
