8 Secrets To A Stylish Home

A big believer of affordable luxury, Caroline Chin-Geyler’s personal style combines the opulence of Hollywood’s Regency period with a laidback coastal charm. And as the founder and head stylist of Arete Culture, an interior styling service that specialises in transforming homes into elegant spaces, Caroline, who is in her 40s, has been styling homes for at least eight years. Take a peek into her home as she shares eight easy ways to transform your abode into a gorgeous, well-curated space to revel and relax in:

1 MIRROR, MIRROR

Easily enlarge a space with mirrors. “You don’t necessarily need big mirrors either; accessories with reflective surfaces will help lighten the room [as they] play off heavier materials like wood. You can also use glass to create that same airy feel,” Caroline says.

2 BRING THE OUTSIDE IN

“Organic elements immediately make a homefeel cosier and more relaxed,” Caroline says. She suggests using orchids as they’re long-lasting and easy to maintain, or high-quality faux flowers that require minimal maintenance. “You may even consider sculptural branches which help usher in a sense of height and organic shape in the room, or other natural elements like shells, mother-of-pearl and trendy rattan pieces.”

3 COLOUR IT IN
