10 Ways To Supercharge Your Career

Lost that spring in your step when coming into the office every day? maybe you’re not as satisfied with your career as you were, or are getting bogged down by negativity and feeling close to burnout. constantly navigating the pitfalls and problems in the office can be exhausting, but life’s too short to feel down in the dumps when it comes to work.

Rather than quit, consider revamping the job you do have, and learning to love it again with tips from Singapore’s top businesswomen.

OLD RULE STRIKE A BALANCE

It’s an age-old conundrum: Baby bump versus career boost. many women still believe motherhood is the single most important job a woman will ever have. But actually having a child unveils a whole host of problems, which working mums may not have the capacity to deal with. how do you juggle this balancing act?

NEW RULE DITCH THE SCALES

Yvon Bock, Founder and managing Director of hegen, which specialises in baby bottles that simplify the nursing process, says it’s all about setting boundaries. “I’ve learnt to set my priorities from the very beginning and even though they conflict often, it is always important to keep them in mind when deciding what to do next,” says the mum-of-four, who was the winner in the Finance and commerce category in The Weekly’s Great Women of Our Time awards 2016. “Once you know your priorities, it’s easy to decide what takes precedence over another. External pressures can easily be handled or managed, so don’t let them overturn your priorities.”
