Holton hasn’t had many opportunities this season but he clearly has made the most of the few he has had

Stock Up Stock Down
- TE Jared Cook: With Amari Cooper mostly ineffective and Michael Crabtree up and down, Cook has emerged as quarterback Derek Carr’s most reliable target. Although he had just one touchdown through nine games, Cook’s ability to repeatedly find open seams in the defense and use his size advantage over smaller defensive backs was key in the wins over Kansas City and Miami. His leaping catch late in the fourth quarter against the Chiefs will be one that fans talk about all season, giving the circumstances and the style points.

- WR Johnny Holton: Holton hasn’t had many opportunities this season but he clearly has made the most of the few he has had. The second-year receiver, who caught two passes in all of 2016, had only two through Oakland’s first nine games but they were doozies — a 64-yard touchdown against Denver in Week 4 and a 44-yarder against the Dolphins in Week 9. In a season in which the offense has really struggled to get the ball downfield deep through the air, Holton has been a refreshing change of pace.

Gruden feeling the heat?

Gruden feeling the heat?

“I know there is a big bull’s-eye on my chest, certainly. If the people want to use that as an incentive, then so be it. I worked for Al Davis in 1998. That was pressure. I was 34 years old. I’ve dealt with pressure before. I don’t really feel pressure. I love the excitement and thrill of competing, and I can’t worry about things I can’t control in that regard. I know people will want to step on me and beat me, and that is just the way this league is.”
