The missed PAT against the Chargers aside (and that really wasn’t his fault anyway), Tavecchio has been everything the Raiders could have hoped for when they signed him just before the start of the regular season to replace an injured Sebastian Janikowski.
- Wide receiver/gunner Johnny Holton: The seldom-used Holton has carved a nice little niche for himself this season. He’s been getting reps on offense as the team’s fourth receiver, turning his only catch of the season into a 64-yard touchdown against Denver in Week 4. On special teams, Holton has been invaluable as a gunner and showed why the coaching staff felt comfortable cutting ties with Pro Bowl special teamer Taiwan Jones in the offseason. Holton is a big reason why punter Marquette King is having the type of season he is.

Gruden feeling the heat?
“I know there is a big bull’s-eye on my chest, certainly. If the people want to use that as an incentive, then so be it. I worked for Al Davis in 1998. That was pressure. I was 34 years old. I’ve dealt with pressure before. I don’t really feel pressure. I love the excitement and thrill of competing, and I can’t worry about things I can’t control in that regard. I know people will want to step on me and beat me, and that is just the way this league is.”
