Midseason report card

The 12Th Dimension

As a father of three daughters, I’m the easy parent — the friend (for as much as a dad can possibly be a “friend” to three teenage girls). Mrs. 12th Man is usually the one who drops the hammer, especially with regard to grades. Luckily for my daughters, they typically bring home very good to great report cards. And luckily for the Giants, I’m the one grading this team as Mrs. 12 would give straight “F’s” across the board.

Quarterback — As expected, Daniel Jones has taken his lumps as an NFL rookie QB. His accuracy, poise, and arm strength will serve him well as he takes the next step in 2020 and beyond. But the fumbles….oh those fumbles. His carelessness with the football is reminiscent of Kerry Collins in 2001. Ball security is an issue that Duke coach and Manning family Jedi David Cutcliffe could not correct. The offensive line has failed him and various members of his receiving corps have been in and out of the lineup due to suspensions and injuries. It also doesn’t help that Saquon Barkley suffered a high ankle sprain in week three. Still, those turnovers need to be corrected or Jones won’t last long in this league. C+
