This summer, Amandla stars in Everything, Everything (out May 19) as Maddy, a teen confined to her home by an illness. “She is literally allergic to everything,” Amandla says. Based on the book by Nicola Yoon, the part makes Amandla one of the few young women of color taking on leading roles in feature films.
