Ever wondered what you’re going to eat, wear, feel or do in the next few years? We found out for you...
Whoever said it was impossible to look into a crystal ball and know what the future holds obviously doesn’t have our level of access to some of the country’s greatest experts in, well, pretty much every field you can name. Whether there’s scary sex robots in your dating destiny, magical tiny, food pills like Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory that taste like a five-course meal, or an adorable Big Hero 6-esque Baymax who’s going to track your health and fix it for you, we’ve got the lowdown on what’s going to happen. These are the biggest developments that are (disclaimer: likely) to happen for the worlds of fashion, tech, social media, dating, health and a whole lot else.
THE FUTURE OF FASHION
“The biggest thing in Indian fashion’s future is the revival of traditional textiles—hand looms will return in more contemporary silhouettes, with locally sourced fabrics being designer preferences. Fast fashion will be gently nudged out by slow fashion, more focused on quality and detail. A big change will be that overspending on extravagant wedding outfits will ebb, because the grandeur and scale of weddings will change, with simpler destination weddings taking over. Fast fashion is at its peak right now, but there will be a huge dip because the consumer of the future is more and more concerned with quality, less and less so with price. Brands that change collections every week will be pushed out by smaller designers that create unique garments and accessories with more attention to detail instead of having a mass-produced vibe to it. Also, sustainable fashion will gain precedence over time, because the consumer of the future will need to care about the Earth.”
